See the show, then visit The Railway Children film locations in Bradford, Yorkshire
Tickets are now available to this year’s must see production of The Railway Children being staged at Waterloo Station in London.
The former Eurostar terminal is being transformed into a vibrant public space with cafés and bars. The station will also feature a high profile Yorkshire exhibition space which aims to inspire people to visit the locations of Bradford’s much loved film.

The Railway Children show
The production based on E Nesbit’s novel coincides with the 40th anniversary of the iconic 1970s film. It gives a national profile for the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway and the villages of Oakworth, Haworth and Oxenhope used during the making of the film.

The original Railway Children at Oxenhope Railway Station, Bradford
A 1,000-seater auditorium has been created at Waterloo especially for the production with a railway track running through the middle of it, dividing the audience in two. A real steam engine appears in the production (a GNR Stirling Single 4-2-2) pulling a single saloon carriage, known as the Old Gentleman’s Carriage, built in 1971. The very same one used in the film.
A Railway Children Trail leaflet is available at hotels so visitors can explore the actual film locations while on a nostalgic weekend break.
The play opened on 4 July and runs until the end of September 2010.
